We present “The Songs of the Countryside” (“Le Chant des Campagnes”), a significant, fully authenticated original canvas by the highly collected French Postwar & Contemporary master, Georges Ferrato. Handwritten, titled, and dated by the artist's own hand on the reverse side in October 1987, this investment-grade painting beautifully encapsulates the raw energy and poetic abstract landscape styling of Ferrato's highly praised 1980s output.
A brilliant study in tactile dimension, the composition employs a dramatic, heavy impasto and palette-knife technique that forms the hallmark of Ferrato's physical style.
